Drama Club
The Drama Club is celebrating its sixth year here at Antrim. Rehearsals are every Tuesday, from 2:45 p.m.-3:30 p.m. The Antrim Players include students from grades K-8.
Last year our big production was "Doctor Dolittle". The two evening performances in March included great acting performances from our 2nd through 8th graders, wonderful singing by our kindergarten and 1st graders, and the unforgetable choreography of our big dance number, "Jungle Jive". For our next Drama Club production will again be doing a K-8 production. This year's show is the musical, "Annie". September 25th & October 1st we will be watching the video of the Broadway Junior version we will be performing. At the Oct. 1st rehearsal we will handing out audition materials to any member in grades 2 - 8 who would like to try-out for a speaking role. Members who are not interested in a speaking role do not have to audition and will automatically be part of the ensemble for our performances. There are many opportunities for individual actors/actresses as well as great ensemble numbers. The performances of "Annie" will be Thursday, March 21st and Friday, March 22nd - please make sure you will be in school the days of the play before you audition for a speaking part.
"Annie" is a big undertaking for our drama club but one that we think they are ready to tackle. Regular attendance at practices will be very important to the success of the show!!! We will also be looking for parents & students to help with props, scenery, costumes, publicity & tickets, and refreshment table during the show.
