G. Harold Antrim Elementary School Curriculum

"Today's high school students will graduate into a world vastly different from that of the 20th century . To succeed in this new global age, our students will need a new skill set that goes beyond reading, math, and science to include international knowledge and skills." Vivian Stewart, VP Education, Asia Society.
The Point Pleasant Beach School District has long enjoyed the reputation of being one of the best school districts in the shore area. Its dedicated teachers, involved parents, and strong community support have all helped make it the success that it is.
In order to maintain its exceptional level of student achievement, the Point Pleasant Beach School District continually strives to ensure that all students - Pre-K through 12th grade - receive an education that will best prepare them for the challenges of the 21st century. One way we accomplish this is through the development of effective and rigorous curricula.
All of our district curricula have been aligned with the latest NJ Core Curriculum Content Standards, with Language Arts and Math being aligned with the Common Core College and Career Readiness Standards. The standards and the Common Core College and Career Readiness standards integrate 21st century knowledge and skills by incorporating a strong emphasis on technology integration, interdisciplinary connections, and the infusion of global perspectives. They also reflect the following 21st century themes: Global Awareness; Financial, Economic, Business, and Entrepreneurial Literacy; Civic Literacy; and Health Literacy.
The teachers and administrators in the Point Pleasant Beach School District know that very different challenges await today's students. Therefore, all of us are committed to providing our students at "The Beach" with a challenging, supportive, and collaborative educational experience which will prepare them to become productive citizens in a 21st century world.
