The schools of Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey have long been recognized for scholastic excellence and enthusiastic school spirit. Over the years, there have been many people who have made positive contributions to these two Beach traditions. The communities served have always been most supportive. In recent years a number of factors have come together making it financially more difficult than ever for the school district. Because the Quality of Education Act has designated our school district as "wealthy", we have lost much of our state aid. The law has also severely "capped" the district's ability to raise funding through taxes. The academic and school spirit traditions remain strong, yet there is a real need for help.

In the Spring of 1992, a number of concerned people, proud of the schools and interested in supporting them through these uncertain financial times, formed the Point Pleasant Beach Public Education Foundation, a not for profit corporation. The missions of the Foundation are to provide additional financial support, to supplement the regular programming and to foster even greater opportunities for our students.

The Foundation now seeks your help. It needs ideas, energy and funds. These things will come from alumni, faculty, staff, students, parents, local businesses and area corporations. The Foundation seeks to help provide those extra things that make the difference between a good educational experience and an exceptional educational experience. The students of the Point Pleasant Beach schools are our children. They deserve our very best efforts.
